A note from Sara:
To help you productively manage conflicts, you will be given methods to manage problems and gridlocked issues while building trust and connection. We will work together to help you appreciate your relationship's strengths and to gently navigate through its vulnerabilities. Whether you are seeking relationship counseling because of common issues, such as frustration or communication struggles to more uncommon concerns, I am here to help. I believe that love is a verb and it is a skill that can be cultivated.
Because working with couples is one of my professional passions, I'd like to share with you a little about my professional experience. I have extensive training and knowledge to support you as you develop the relationship you crave. I have received extensive training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) and am currently working toward certification in EFT. I am also a Level 3 advanced Gottman therapist. I have received advanced training in The Developmental Model of Couple Therapy with Drs. Bader and Pearson of The Couples Institute in California. Known worldwide for their pioneering work in couples therapy, they speak at major conferences and conduct training throughout the world. While living in California, I was fortunate to have trained with Dr. Dan Wile in Collaborative Couple Therapy. Dr. Gottman referred to Dr. Wile as the "greatest living marital therapist."
The work we do in therapy can feel overwhelming, yet it is also empowering! The benefits of couples therapy can be truly felt as you apply new knowledge and tools to shatter the ineffective patterns and build better patterns. I believe that the quality of our relationships can determine the quality of our lives.
I hope you can see my dedication to the field of couples therapy and I hope you experience the benefits of our work together as your relationship develops and evolves.
